From Staten Island to Shangri-La: The Collecting Life of Jacques Marchais. Join us as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Museum's opening with a new biographical exhibition about the Museum's founder, Jacques Marchais. This program is sponsored in part by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, New York State Council on the Arts, and the Staten Island Foundation.

TIBETAN YOGA & MEDITATION with Geshe Tenzin Demchok. Geshe Tenzin Demchok was born in Tibet and escaped to India at the age of 11. He was educated at Drepung Loseling Monastery in south India. He travels extensively giving lectures, seminars and meditation classes that are relevant to world peace and harmony. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students.

Ongoing Programs

The Museum offers classes in guided meditation on Saturday mornings from 11:30 - 12:30, and tai chi on Saturday afternoons from 4pm - 5pm. The Museum also offers yoga classes on Thursday mornings from 10am–11am. The cost for all classes is $12 per class ($10 for Friends of the Museum.) Reservations for all classes are accepted on an on-going basis. Please call 718-987-3500 to register.
